High Divide Trail Work Day- Aug 28
August trail workday is on Saturday, August 28th to finish the work from the June High Divide Trails Jamboree near the Ontario Creek Campground.
Late spring snow didn't allow us to complete all the work we wanted to do in June, but watch out - we're back for more! A new loop trail along the Continental Divide was completed recently, but we need help with the last touches. Work will include installing a trailhead kiosk, putting up CDT signs, trail maintenance and generally touching things up.
Elevation: Approximately 6500’ to 7700’.
Hike from trailhead to worksite: 1-6 miles
(Bring your mountain bike if you have one.)
Hike and Work: Moderate to Strenuous
All tools and safety gear provided. Volunteers must provide day pack, food and water for the day and a willingness to get dirty on the trail!
Parking is limited at the trailhead so please carpool. Be aware that there is a 1.7 to 2.6 mile hike (depending on parking situations) to the worksite.
This project is a partnership of the High Divide Trails Partnership including PPLT, Montana Wilderness Association, Great Divide Cyclery, the Continental Divide Trail Alliance and numerous equestrian, cycling clubs and outdoor groups.
