Local Paddling

We are very fortunate to live within an hour of a variety of great river and open water paddling opportunities.

From the Missouri River to the Yellowstone River, Montana provides an enticing network of river, streams and reservoirs for all paddlers. Our favorite Montana river resource is Paddling Montana. This handy guide provides excellent practical and historical information on 32 rivers in Montana.

Introduction to Recreational Kayaking

A basic class to introduce you to equipment, safety and paddling strokes used to paddle efficiently on flat water.  Class includes an evening lecture hosted at The Base Camp from 6:00-7:30 p.m. and a water session held at Spring Meadow Lake from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.   Equipment is provided.

Class Size: Minimum of 3

Cost: $40 per person, per session.

Session 2:

Tuesday, July 20 meet at The Base Camp-Helena, 6:00-7:30 p.m.

Thursday, July 22 meet at Spring Meadow Lake, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
